Collaborated with Red Crackle, a software services firm, on a project for Fortive, a Fortune 500 company. The project focused on designing career pages and optimizing user workflows for Fortive and its subsidiaries across various industries.

Fortive’s subsidiaries span Intelligent Operating Solutions, Precision Technologies, and Advanced Healthcare Solutions, including companies like Fluke, Accruent, and Tektronix. The scope included structuring and designing key pages such as the career homepage, internal pages like "About Fortive," and individual career pages for each subsidiary. The goal was to ensure a seamless user experience while maintaining brand consistency across all platforms.

Process

The process began with analyzing the existing website and identifying key requirements. The main challenge was that the career pages lacked consistency with the rest of the website in terms of flow and design language. It was essential to refine the structure and create a more cohesive user experience.

Additionally, each subsidiary company had its own design language and color scheme, making it crucial to maintain their individuality while ensuring they still felt connected to Fortive’s brand identity. The goal was to strike a balance between uniqueness and consistency across all pages.

Restrictions
The existing design language had to be maintained for consistency with the rest of the website. Additionally, certain predefined development components had to be used, limiting flexibility in some areas. Understanding these restrictions was essential before moving forward with the design process.

Final Design

The final designs were created for both desktop and mobile, ensuring a seamless experience across devices. The design was crafted to complement the existing website, maintaining a modern and visually appealing aesthetic while aligning with the overall brand identity.

Reflections

The project was a valuable learning experience, given the fast-paced timeline and the need to design for both desktop and mobile. Understanding user needs while considering the development team's constraints was crucial for smooth execution.
